ENGLISH

Over the last few years we have seen a wave of people escaping from Syria and other areas of the Middle East and Africa. Many of these people have lost their families, friends and all their hopes and dreams for the future. They risk their lives to come to Europe and find peace and they are not always made welcome. We call them refugees.

I want Europeans to stop thinking negatively about refugees and I want to do this by showing people who they are as fellow humans. I would like to interview them and ask them 3 questions:

  • Where is your family?
  • What did you do in your country?
  • Why did you want to leave?

Finally I would offer them a cup of coffee (this coffee will be a “suspended coffee”)

A “suspended coffee” is when you pay for two coffees in a bar, you drink one and you gift the second one to a person in need. NYTimes described what it is: http://goo.gl/NMSlvv

I would like people from all over Europe to collaborate and buy a “suspended coffee” for a refugee. All money raised will go to the Spanish NGO “Olvidados”.

I was born in Italy and I spent 13 years living abroad. I have worked in big corporations around Europe and I have also had my own startup in London whilst studying an MBA in Spain. I am a dive instructor and Greenpeace activist.

In 2004, after leaving a job at DELL, I travelled around the world. During my journey, I started to take pictures of my coffee pot in different famous locations around the world. One day a journalist discovered the story of the traveling coffee pot and by reporting on this, she became famous in the European media. She was the main character on a children’s show and also spoke at TEDx. Find here some pics of her:https://www.facebook.com/cafeteraglobal/

I am currently living and Naples, where I work in education and as mentor for people who want to start a startup.
